Scalability

New lifter? With a qualified coach, the Olympic lifts can be safely regressed or progressed accordingly to the lifter’s current fitness level. Regressions of the lifts are commonly programmed for professional athletes and general fitness enthusiasts alike with effective results!

Explosive Power and Athletic Crossover

Most sports favor athletes who excel at utilizing the ground to manipulate their field of play. By nature, the Olympic lifts require fast, powerful, and coordinated movement through the ground to create a significant amount of energy. This positions Olympic weightlifting as a top choice for anyone looking to take their athletic performance to the next level.

Full Body Strength and Mobility

The main Olympic lifts include the snatch and clean & jerk. Alone, these two movements encompass a squat, hip hinge, row, overhead press, and jump pattern while requiring the ability to stabilize load overhead. When performed in a progressive manner, one can expect to efficiently strengthen the entire body while also unlocking additional ranges of motion.

Olympic Weightlifting Technique Session

For athletes new and experienced in performing the snatch and the clean & jerk, the Olympic Weightlifting Technique Session at Training Ground in Bethesda, Maryland is a 60-minute session that drills proper technique to establish effective and safe execution of the Olympic lifts. Athletes will have the chance to address bad habits, while establishing better ones towards the development of athletic speed and explosive power.  This session is led by USA Weightlifting Level 2 coach Steve Evans Jr.
