Looking to add boxing into your routine? With exclusive one on one and small group settings, you can reap the fitness benefits of boxing while also learning fundamental techniques often missed in large classes. Following the USA Boxing system, you can expect expertly programmed sessions that will get you in shape and progress you towards your goals. Here is a video snippet of a session, and below provides a overview of what sessions are like:

Warm Up

Compared to other workouts, the boxing warm up includes more drills that are specific to boxing. These drills are meant to prepare the body and practice boxing technique as the session progresses.

Stance

Understanding the correct boxing stance is essential for establishing safe and effective technique. With correct stance, balance, offense, and defense can be more easily maintained.

Punch Technique

Punching is similar to swinging a golf club, as movement initiates from the ground, shifts from leg to leg, and sequences upwards through the hands. Basic punches will be drilled under varying contexts. Position of hands, arms, torso, hips, feet, and weight will be main focus points.

Footwork and Movement

Basic footwork includes linear, lateral, and pivotal movement all while maintaining the proper boxing stance. There are many fun, creative exercises used to teach this concept.

Defense

From the defensive standpoint, stance, footwork and movement will combine with reactionary exercises to teach evasive maneuvers and counter attacks.

Combinations

Once all of the aforementioned areas have been reviewed, contextual combinations will be practiced at the discretion of the boxing coach.
